About the Program

Till now, the program had been implemented in more than 130 countries and regions worldwide, benefiting over 30,000 students from more than 500+ universities.

As the spread and impact of COVID-19 continue unfolding around the world, we need to be more alert, and more decisive than ever – responding constantly to changing conditions, while keeping an eye on the future, to ensure preparedness when better times return. However, learning and communication should never stop.

In 2021 after the online program, we took the best students to Brussels offline event where visited Brussels, Belgium, where students had the opportunity to meet with various experts in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT), including members of the European Parliament, cybersecurity experts at Huawei Cyber ​​Security and Transparency Center and see the largest built-in photovoltaic system in Europe, consisting of 5,808 solar panels. Experience trip to Brussels was given to 26 best technology students from Scandinavia and the Baltic countries which gave them an opportunity to learn more about technology but also network and make new friends. In 2022 we are planning a trip to Vienna for the best Seeds for the Future alumni in the Nordic and Baltic regions.

Brief agenda for the Online course in 2022:

We offer an 8-day online program that requires around 15 hours of devotion: 3 hours of mandatory pre-recorded courses + 15 hours of mandatory live-stream courses + “Tech4Good” group project (self-organized discussion time varies) + free access to all elective online courses and dedicated selected resources about Chinese culture

About Huawei: Who is Huawei, Huawei’s flagship store & campus virtual tour
ICT related: IoT, smart home, cyber security, digital trade, smart city, data and industry trends
Leadership: Leadership skills, cross-cultural management, and strategic leadership
Prospective: Macro-economic policies, semiconductor, aerospace, 3D vision
Traditional and Modern China: Chinese Materials Arts, A Bite of China, Secrets of the Forbidden City, Kunqu opera etc.

“Tech4Good” Group Project – Mandatory

What is “Tech4Good”?
“Tech4Good” is about how to leverage technology to address social and/or environmental issues.

Key Learning Outcomes
● Increase social entrepreneurship
● Understand current trends on how technology can assist with solving complex global challenges
● Build problem-solving and leadership skills through teamwork
● Deepen personal mission and sense of social responsibility

How do a group projects work?
In each class, 5-10 students will be divided as a group to study, discuss during the program, and produce a 5/10 mins presentation on Day 8 to compete in the Best Group Work. Toolkit materials will be provided on Day 1 and mentors introduced to address questions and doubts related to the project on Day 3 & Day 5.

Certification and graduation criteria:

▸ Pass 3 mandatory courses on iLearningX: 5G, AI, and Cloud (Gain 60 scores out of 100 for each)
▸ Attend all live-stream courses
▸ Participate in “Tech4Good” group project

Graduation Ceremony:
Closing ceremony: Certificates of Completion & Personal Leadership Report will be awarded (electronic copy).

Internships or workplace in the local offices
The local PR/Marketing managers work closely with the local HR department to explore opportunities for internships within the local office.

Job openings
Students who took part in the Seeds for the Future program have been trained on the latest technologies and are familiar with Huawei’s business and global strategy. They form a talent pool for Huawei, so in the case of job openings in the local office, students would be informed about the opportunities that Huawei could offer if their profile matches job requirements. Whenever possible, labs and other departments will share jobs and internship opportunities for Seeds for the Future participants.

Reference letter
If you’ll be selected and finish the program with the best scores you’ll have the priority of applying for a job in Local Huawei offices.
For the best students we’ll deliver Reference Letters for their future careers.

AI courses
Possibility to continue further with the AI certification and get the needed tools for practice.

Eligibility for gifts
We’ll prepare giveaways for the best students, who’ll finish the program with the best scores.
